The Gentle Warriors would like to thank our Strategic Partners who continue to support our mission to promote the vision of A. Philip Randolph!

Our Program

A. Philip Randolph Institute (APRI) an AFL-CIO Constituency group was founded in 1965 by union leaders Asa Philip Randolph and Bayard Rustin as a non profit, non-partisan organization of black trade unionist to fight for racial equality and economic justice. Today, APRI has about 150 chapters in 36 states, including Fort Lauderdale.

The Fort Lauderdale APRI chapter offers support in local unions during organizing campaigns, provide outreach programs and services for community members in need. We organize and implement voter registration drives and get-out-the vote mobilizations along with voter education forums. As the union movement reaches out to a diverse workforce, the constituency groups are in a unique position to serve as bridges to communities of workers and to ensure that all workers’ voices are heard.

APRI creates and strengthens partnerships to enhance the standard of living for all workers and their families.
